I just got an email from Elizabeth B, MS and she said "The main challenge is finding contacts at companies of interest who are willing to have informational meetings. Many people I find on LinkedIn or through other methods either decline to meet, or never respond. They say that almost anyone will meet for 20 minutes over coffee, but people are so overstressed and afraid of losing their own job, that I find you're lucky if even a third of the people you ask will actually meet with you."
I have had the same experience and the same frustrations, so what is the answer? I am putting this out to get your thoughts and feedback on so we can help each other make some progress in this area. Let's have some discussion and then create a solution, your thoughts?
Brainstorm idea: What is there was a individual or group that had a list of key people that were open to informational meetings and they could introduce you with a "warm" handoff versus you calling or emailing cold?
